Hetalia Recipe Card - Japan by mystiklsushi Hetalia Recipe Card - Japan by mystiklsushi
As you may know, I've been unable to sell my Hetalia cookies lately since...I've moved to Japan and don't have an oven >_>;;

So, in lieu of baking these cookies myself...I'll let everyone else take a shot!

Please enjoy your baking!

EDIT:
In lieu of many questions about the kind of tea that can be used in this recipe, I'd like to clarify that green tea in a tea bag will NOT work for this recipe. Repeat, DO NOT USE TEA LEAVES FROM A GREEN TEA BAG. You need Japanese matcha, which is a bright green tea powder. If you can't find it locally in an international store or a tea store, I suggest searching the internet. Also, be sure not to get pre-packed matcha-au-lait mix. If you've used the proper tea, your cookies should come out a lovely shade of green!

holy crap XD
OK so i accidentally put the sugar into the flour and not into the butter so when i had to beat the butter i just added the vanilla and eggs in with it. I also ground up sencha with a mortar bowl, because for some dumbass reason I didn't read the edit. Then, since the consistency was clumpy and the batter didn't mix, i added some milk. I had to spoon the batter out instead of rolling it out and cutting it out with a cookie cutter.... IT TURNED OUT SO GOOD >.< I was really surprised and the texture seemed more like bread than a cookie ^.^

Would it be okay if you used all purpose flour?

Can you use green tea bags instead? If so, how many bags?

Definitely no. Green tea in a teabag is usually sencha, and what you need is matcha, which is a much stronger tea. The stuff in the tea bags is totally different, and you will not get the nice green color or rich flavor to the cookies if you use it.

I'd suggest looking in either an import store or a supermarket with a well stocked tea aisle. If those are not available in your area, there is always the internet.
